The Evolving Radar Mission Landscape
RADARSAT-2 has been in orbit since December 2007, and the applications it was built for, from ice monitoring and marine surveillance to disaster response and agriculture, now draw on a much wider set of radar missions. Sentinel-1, TerraSAR-X, ICEYE, Capella and RADARSAT-2 itself all serve them, each with a different resolution, polarisation and revisit profile. Projects that need different modalities of SAR imaging can source SAR satellite imagery from Sfera Technologies in a single catalogue, with acquisitions tasked over specific sites with the ability to adjust the timing of capture.
